OUR PROJECTS

We are working every day to create a neighbourhood that is pleasant to live in, less mineral and greener: with fruit trees, a communal vegetable garden, greener facades, bushes for birds, exchanges of seeds and cuttings, rainwater harvesting…

We are particularly attentive to the quality of life of our little companions: cats looking for temporary shelter, dogs always ready to play (and rest in the sun at the kiosk at the top of the square), birds for whom we provide food and shelter (nesting boxes adapted to the species, feeders in winter, drinking troughs) and even receive visits from a fox and martens.

We encourage a continuous contact between neighbours of different origins, cultures, ages and languages, but with a common language: the pleasure of getting together in a pleasant setting.

> More information

We organise a number of workshops, also for people with no basic gardening knowledge: watering techniques, growing chicory and mushrooms at home, greening facades, etc.

> More information

We’re raising awareness among children of local primary and nursery school about nature in the city, composting food waste, etc.

> More information

As part of Heritage Days 2021, we organised a major neighbourhood exhibition, ‘Autour de Marguerite: shops and estaminets!’, which ran from 18.09.21 to 31.10.21.

> More information

We are part of the ‘Embellisseurs de la Ville de Bruxelles’ (City of Brussels’ beautifiers): cleaning up the area around the square on Sundays, reporting damaged street furniture, faulty lighting, illegal dumping sites, annual cleaning of the “giant ashtrays” on the Schuman roundabout.

 > More information

We work closely with the GAQ (Comité du Quartier européen de la Ville de Bruxelles), the Maison de Quartier Ambiorix, the non-profit organisation L’Estampille, the Royal Belgian League for the Protection of Birds, Moineaux & Biodiversité and others.

> More information

We keep in constant touch with local residents and visitors, through informal discussions in the field, a Facebook page, a HOPLR account, information boards and posters, announcements of our events, business cards that are updated every year, etc.
